I've read everything she has written that I can get my hands on. She is an inspiration to me.

Re: New movie stills: first photo of Kilmer as king Philip

Every mag in the UK has photos of the movie in it. The build up is getting ridiculous. How could it ever live up to expectations? One can only hope!

Re: Your opinion about Alexander the Great

A mixture of wonder and sadness. Wonder he achieved so much in so little time, and sadness he had died so young.GA

Re: Alexander the Great sexuality

Hi Sikander, Well, here it is again. I think people just need to understand we cannot judge today's mores on the society back in 300BC. You know I've been defending that constantly in my book. I just don't see why it's an issue. The man was what he was. His loves didn't change that fact. GA http://w...

Re: Stones Emphaisis on the Poison Theory

Though my book is fiction, I went with posioning as well. To me, it seemed so very possible, given the circumstances surrounding his death. Hey, unless you were at his bedside, no one will ever know for sure. http://www.authorga.com

Re: What if Hephaestion had lived ?

I agree he would have been the next in line, but- sometimes history has a way of playing out its fate, regardless of the obstacles. Inevitably, it would have gone the same way. I don't think Hephaetion would have been strong enough to withstand the tremendous force that was pushing against Alexander...

Maybe greatness brings out jealousy and anger. I don't know. But anyone who wants to understand Alexander will ultimately find out his true character.
In the meantime, stick to this forum!;)

Re: Article on Alexandria's National Museum

Wolfie,
Having just gotten back from Cairo, I would imagine this museum is well worth the trip. The collection at the Cairo Museum was unbelievable. And Egypt is definitely something to be experienced in one's lifetime. Get there!

I had trouble with it as well, Ruth. I kept skipping paragraphs looking for something that caught my interest.

Re: don't use the word gay

Sikander, you know how I feel about the topic...when my book was published I spent more time explaining to people that 'this is how it was back then' and not to place our 'modern' mores on ancient cultures. It is almost useless exhausting myself trying to justify behaviour that needs absolutely no- ...

Alexander the Mummy?

Dear Forum,
I've just returned from Egypt where I visited the Cairo Museum and the Pyramids of Giza.
Opinion there is that Alexander was mummified and buried in an unknown tomb in Alexandria.
Any views?G.A.Hauser
