Re: New historical fiction on Alexander and friends

This what what I appreciated about the first three books of the Alexander series by Argent Wood. The book is historically accurate; Hi : ) Sorry I’m kinda late with this response. I do remember reading a chapter or two, and I didn’t really like the way Hephaestion was portrayed. (The poor guy, alwa...

Re: Stealing Fire by Jo Graham

Thanks for posting this review. I skipped most of the mystical parts, but I kinda enjoyed the battle scenes. What did you think of Hephaestion’s characterization? I quite liked the way he was portrayed—though I felt the depiction of his relationship with Alexander was a bit modern. At least he wasn’...

As for the movie, even if Alexander and Hephaestion were lovers (and I go for the option they were lovers at...

Re: New historical fiction on Alexander and friends

Sigrid Simms’ ‘Lion of Macedon’ is one of my favorite Alexander novels, perhaps because of its detailed portrayal of people and events. Hi : ) Thank you for the recommendation, How historically accurate do you think the book is? I'm considering ordering it but debating whether the high price is wor...

Re: The Political Role of Hephaestion

Hi, Emma, and welcome! Thanks! As a someone that started just a few months ago to read about ATG I found this forum so fascinating. I realised that it’s quite “dead” in this days, but still it is a treasure trove of knowledge for people looking for information and discussions on ATG. Hence he decid...

Re: The Political Role of Hephaestion

״…He clashed with Alexander on the matter of Philotas’ arrest״ Maybe I'm wrong but I don't remember a source that states such a thing. As a supporter of Hephastion, there are many unfounded opinions (or wishful thinking) in this article. To claim that Alexander loved and valued Hephastion for good r...
