Is it possible by public transport? It is possible. See the Pothos travel guide: http://www.pothos.org/content/index.php?page=travel---alexander-s-footsteps#greece. I went there last year by public transport and found it fairly convenient. Just take a good and recent travel guide with you and take ...

IMHO- this could be any of his Companions. Moreover- has it been prooved that this statue is from Alexander's reign? Or is it later- some Hellenistic art or even Roman period? Has some analysis been made?

That which has reached across the millenia to us is what Alexander or related parties wanted us to think about him. And more- I th...

Interestingly - and pointedly - there is not one whit of a mention of Hammond's "sons of the hypaspists" (of Alexander - the Silver Shields) that he claims are the hypaspists mentioned at Paraetecene and Gabiene. Wonder why they weren't invited? Too young to drink perhaps... Was it possib...

Re: Offtopic yes, but

 Laughing at the way Alexander is portrayed in this book, nobody would want to claim to have been him, would they? Yes, I have finally finished reading the book, and became used to the way Bucephalus dominates the other horse's with his horse dung, and believe that probably Kathryn Roberts may...

Re: Characters

So- I am not sure, he was closer friend to Amynta than Alexander. I don't think we have any evidence that Philotas wa...
