The schools here concentrate on WWI and WWII and barely mention Vietnam or Desert Storm. . Of the top of my head I think that may be the only source, they were called the Maedoi and he founded a settlement Alexandropolis to celebrate the victory, something which may not have endeared him to his father. Plutarch is the source for most of the childhood stories though based on other authors...
