Emails/Alexias and Main Site/Thomas

Greetings,

Alexias, as a moderator, I still see only the dark box, so I assume only you and Thomas can see emails.

Thomas, is the site update still going to allow us to post articles on the main pages outside the Forum?

Regards,
Sikander

Re: phpBB updated

Greetings Thomas and Alexias,

I have to admit I am not certain how to test of everyone has access to membership emails. Does the yes/no setting on the global email setting still determine who can/cannot post to a person via their email setting?

Re: Direction of the forum

Glad there are no complaints so far! A further stage I forgot to mention will be reviewing the content on the main site. If anyone wants to contribute a new essay or revise/update an existing one, please get writing! Greetings Alexias, I would like to see the original contents on the main site be a...

Re: Direction of the forum

Greetings Alexias, Are you thinking of a book review segment separate form the Book reviews section we have on the main Pothos site? I will happily help in whatever way I can, but of course, I am well aware of my shortcomings on the computer. We can talk more once you have had a chance to look at wh...

Re: Direction of the forum

Communities do tend to fade over time, and perhaps the time has come for pothos to quietly fade away. If there is anyone who is still interested in keeping the community active, do you have any suggestions as to what sort of topics you would like to see discussed, what you think would encourage mor...

Re: Direction of the forum

Greetings, I would absolutely NOT want to see the Forum fade into the sunset, so to speak. It is still one of the more reliable resources for questions. And of course, the archived threads alone are worth their weight in gold, so to speak. While there *are* several other Alexander FB sites, websites...

Re: Dancing with the Lion (novels on the young ATG)

Greetings Jeanne,

Thank you. I thought you would understand <smile>. True then, true now.
The veneer of polite civilization is never deep when it comes to politics and power.
And absolute loyalty is still an invaluable character trait. And still rare.

Re: Dancing with the Lion (novels on the young ATG)

Greetings, Reading through this thread, I tend to agree with Alexias and Jeanne on Hephaestion. I think a trend to color Hephaestion in a certain way, without any proofs, has been fed by that "fundamentally stupid" comment. Nothing about Hephaestion points to him being "stupid", ...

Re: Alexander and sleeping habit

Greetings, Allegedly, Thomas Edison used a similar technique, as did Salvador Dali and numerous others, both in the ancient world and the modern. It has also been suggested Aristotle used a similar technique. I suspect most references to the ancient world are somewhat post-ancient world, however. Th...

Re: Dancing with the Lion (novels on the young ATG)

Congratulations, Jeanne, I know this has been both a long labour and a labour of love for you. I have wondered, after your first draft so long ago, how you felt about tackling a fictional work, and how it was going. Good to see this moment has arrived; looking forward to your work. Re: The Kasta tomb Amphipolis - not a "Macedonian" tomb?

Greetings, Just want to say, I am thoroughly enjoying the recent discussions. This is the value and joy of Pothos- in-depth discussions regarding historical evidence, possibilities and civil disagreements/debates. Also appreciate the links to sources. Much appreciated... Regards, and looking forward...

The Orderof Alexander: to Nicator

Greetings Nicator,

It's an interesting "club"... involved process, from application to novice onwards... membership is telling and interesting in and of itself.
