pothos.org is getting old...

Post by Thomas »

It is over 10 years since the first pothos.org site. The technology is archaic now but works nicely in my view. I was ahead of my time when I redid the site in 1999 since I did everything in XML. It should be possible to redo the menus and things in a new language like php which will continue to be supported, but I know I certainly do not have the time! I so have a proof of concept though ;-)

Great! I was concerned

Wonderful! I had wondered at how to reach the new forum but found that it came to life as soon as I hit forum. Here I am. I will play to learn how this all works but so far so good. Congratulations, Thomas, as it hasn't hurt a bit yet. Jan

Pretty good, huh?

Hi Jan,

Good to see you made it through! I was a bit nervous at first, but after a bit of looking around, trying things out, etc., I find this quite easy.

For me, the need to split threads seems a bit of a trial, and I'm not sure how exactly to do it; but I wouldn't call that a complaint, merely something I have to get used to.

Let's hope that we get some really good usage out of this new forum - it's bound to be slow for the next week or so, what with Easter holidays, etc ... but then things will hot up again.

All the best

Marcus

I am feeling helpless here.

I have been emailing Andrew off-line and am not sure what the misunderstanding is here. Perhaps some companions can make some suggestions.

I was so wrong and I hope you got my last personal message;

Forgive my in-mature temper. I could live a hundred lifetimes and never be
the man you are today!

Yes set me up the user and password name you mentioned below and could you
delete the horrible two posts I recently generated?

And no way I will accept a refund from my donation. I'm truly sorry. Just
picture me with long ears and a tail (a mammoth JACK).

Best regards, Andrew

Cheers,

I have set it all up and sent you a personal email. Log in with dean and the password you just set for this Dean. ID and it should all work.
