Homer says Achilles' father Peleus was mortal, but his mother Thetis was an immortal goddess, who had influence with Zeus himself, and got for Achilles armor from Hephaistus. So maybe it's up in the air whether Achilles is mortal or not?I'm sketchy on this, but after Achilles had "died," didn't Odysseus go down to the house of Hades and find Agamemnon sorrowing, but Achilles had taken the place over or something?John
