Actually, it is a common mistake to assume that Alexander was a blonde. There is a common word used by the anicent Greeks(which escapes me right now) which was used to describe a variety of hair colors ranging from light brown to blonde.
It also mentions in Plutarchs parallel lives that Alexander added chamomile to his hair to lighten it, hence it could have been mistaken to believe that he was blonde.Someone correct me if im wrong.

Actually, given the habit of ruling families marrying from outside their country to make alliances, you might expect that the blood purity of the ruling family to get more and more diluted as the years went by. Think of the British royal family up to the 1950s.Of Philip's wives, I think that two were Macedonian - Phila & Cleopatra - the rest were Molossian, Illyrian, Thracian, Thessalian.
Philip's mother Eurydice was possibly Illyrian.Olympias' father was Molossian, but who was her mother? Go back another generation and another batch of alliances and you could be covering a wide area. Although the father's name is recorded, physical characteristics could come just as easily from the mother. Think of Henry VIII, who obviously inherited looks and temperament from his maternal grandfather Edward IV although on paper you would regard them as separate dynasties.So - Alexander's grandparents were:
Amyntas III - assume Macedonian
Eurydice - possibly Illyrian
Neoptolemus - assume Molossian

Olympias' mother - unknownThis is moving up the Balkan peninsula, so to expect colouring from the Classical Greek area is unlikely.As for Celts, about 400BC armed bands of Celts were at the head of the Adriatic and making armed raids down Italy. If they were the other side of the Adriatic, making raids down into Illyria and Molossia there wouldn't be any records but given their raids on mainland Greece in 279 BC it wouldn't be too surprising. I'll try to find out more about the earliest records of Celts in the area.On another tangent, I saw somewhere a suggestion that the Indian emperor Asoka, grandson of Chandragupta, could have been a quarter or eighth Macedonian through the daughter of Seleucus. Has anyone else seen this ?

Oh, no, now are we going to argue over the color of ACHILLES' hair?!I just did an internet search to check myself. The first english translation to come up under "Homer Iliad" was by Samuel Butler. So I scrolled down to book 23, where Achilles cuts off a lock of his hair in honor of Patroclus. The translation is "yellow lock." Surely this is blonde, not auburn.John

Maybe Alexander would be happy to know that the hair colors yellow blonde (Achilles), and auburn (Alexander), are not so far apart genetically. I know this is true because my full sister has yellow blonde hair, while I have this auburn deal.John

Alexander,in his father's tomb is pictured with black hair.The only reason that they depict him as blonde is because all the Greek Gods were blonde (because it was the most rare and their gods should be rare). The Greek people from the antiquity until now are composed from:
85% Mediterranian White
10% Alpinic White
5% Nordic White
So Nordic is rare generally.

Today world is full of selfishness, greed, arrogance, not to mention absence of ethic/moral and somehow presence of destructive force. So this world need strong message for getting closser what spouse to be universal brotherhood of man, and this movie is /should be all about that. Peoples are fed enough with blood, force... but with no message for better world, vission for bright future. This world need what deserve- better future and that was Laexander's Dream, so it should be that way. It is time for universal brotherhood of man and LIGHT !
