I am also Greek, but im not quite thickheaded enough to think Alexander and the rest of the Greeks didnt enjoy the company of young boys!Though i think the movies should leave this stuff out, only because modern audiences will not know how to take it.

Unless it is a Wagnerian opera, it just won't be any good. Somehow or other, watching Alexander and Companions singing across Asia does not seem plausible. I suspect that is why that most composers have not attempted it. It all sounds too humorous. I can just see Alexander crossing the desert, spilling his water onto the sands, while lifting his voice to the skies. "Don't cry for me, Companions, I won't drink a drop either!" :-)

I'm not a big fan of opera, but if you could get Tom Jones singing in it, I think I'd come regardless of the storyline! _
