I WILL SPEAK ABOUT THE NAME ARABIANS USE FOR ALEXANDER:ISKENDER. ARABIANS CANNOT PRONOUNCE THE LETTER X. SO THEY SAY ALESKENDER AND NO ALEXANDER.BUT AL IS THE ARABIAN ARTICLE, SO THEY USE THE FIRST SYLLABLE AS ARTICLE AND THEY PRONOUNCE "ISKENDER".
I have used the name "Iskander" for Alexander IV in my novel, to distinguish him from his father (and as he was brought up in the harem for the first years of his life). He also calls himself "Al'skaner". An interesting child. Nothing much written about him so I've had fun creating his character for my novel.
