ot of ages and time I have seen programes where the ifigy of Alexander has been used in many statues and portraits,as it was regarded the Alexander physique was the ideal shape and specimin of the classical era.I once saw a historical documantary where the narrater even suggests that the effigy of Jesus christ on the cross with his head inclined is alsop Alexander.I dont know how true this is but it brought a smile to my face that maybe when I see the christian son of god we may be actually looking at our Alexander.regardsKenny

Greetings,I find much of the mythology of "Jesus" has connections to earlier mythologies, too; and somewhere I once read an entire article comparing Alexander and "Jesus" but the title and author escapes me. I think it was mentioned on this site once before- does anyone recall?Regards,

Greetings KennySometimes the parables between Alexander and Jesus makes me think then I compare, even the opposites show some similarities. I say to myself how much of Jesus' life was taken from Alexander's, the opposites modified and Christianity produces the perfect human (son of god).
If I recall correctly, one of the face cards in the poker and pinochle deck of cards is a reflection of ATG, which one I don't remember. Interesting post!RegardsAndrew

I think the face card is a jack, though I've seen Alexander referred to as both the Jack of Clubs and the Jack of Diamonds. There are "connections" to Alexander everywhere, many of them highly amusing. Did you know that according to medieval alchemy, Alexander was buried with the Philosopher's Stone in his arms? Not the Harry Potter one but the one that holds the secret of turning base metals into gold. Oh, and he is supposedly also responsible for rice pilaf because he told the Indian cooks to come up with a dish that his army could actually eat! This is a very interesting post, can I de a little controvetial.I have several Christian friends who are actually salvation army Officers,needless to say they spend a lot of time trying to get me to see there light.Sometimes I bring the topic of Alexander up,and often get asked What Alexander left behind in comparison with Jesus.Would I be out of order if I told them he left an image for Christians to pray to,,, the Christ on the cross.Andrew I feel you are spot on with your comparisons to Jesus also,are we to believe that our man was the first son of god.Sorry folks.Kenny

I will take a look for this list - I think it may be lost amongst a pile of more serious research. Then maybe I should post it here and let Nick take a look and see if he wants to add any of the stories to his myths page?I don't know of the site specifically comparing Jesus to Alexander, but I did see a curious web page recently that connects him with Jewish history. It has the usual quotes from Josephus, but also claims that Macedonians are the lost tribe of Israel and the golden box found in the tomb in Macedonia might be the Ark of the Covenant! Not to mention a more vague paragraph that implies a connection between Alexander and Gabriel. I treat these kind of websites with a very cynical eye - after all, anyone who has the money can make their own web page.
