Thanks. I liked this review! The only thing he neglected to say is that the army looks like a fraternity party at rush time! (Check Reuters clip at Alexander Countdown).

Hi Jan,You are awfully up and down about this film. Like I said, I hope you see it and then tell us what you think.I thought this review was tacky and not well written, at all. Using words like "crap" and "dreck", in a review definetely shows a person with a lack of a decent vocabulary (my grammar isn't great either, but I wouldn't use words like those, when writing a review). It will be nice to get a professional review, soon. Good or bad at least it will be written in a manner where they don't have to use words like "crap" and "dreck" to fill up a page.I don't put much stock in reviews like these. Dara

Greetings Dara,
Who is this guy with a very negative attitude on the Alexander movie, I'm sure he felt this way before he entered the theater, if he really did.

It's obvious he has hardly studied Alexander if at all. He knows nothing about the mental war (battles) with Philip, Olympias, and some of his commanders for that matter. It's easy for a guy like this to get lost in the (forest) realm of Alexander. Your right Dara, lets wait until we see it for our selves. Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew,You are correct. There is a lot more to Alexander, that people may forget. I think the reviewer complained a lot about what was not in the film (you could probably make 50 films about ATG and not cover his life, sufficiently). I would rather take a look at what Stone did with the material included in the film, than what he left out.The original running time of the film was almost 4 hours. There was at least an hour that was cut out of the film (thats what DVD is for). You can't include everything. Like I said, it's impossible. I am sure Stone did the best he could with the time alloted. But whether we like it or not is up to us. Reviews can say a lot of things, but your own opinion is what matters most. I am sure many of us will see it next week. Then we will all be able to talk about it with our own perspective instead of going back and forth with all of these reviews.Dara

umm ive been a member of this forum for YEARS. i havent posted for a long time up until very recently. admin should know when i registered. anyway. if you think im hoping this movie will fail you are miserably mistaken. i have to admit that if this reviewer in fact did see this movie, and what he is saying is true, im in for a big disappointment. how can granicus and issus be left out? my favorite battle in all of history is probably issus next to thermopylae. im a huge alexander fan and i believe that if mel gibson had gone and done his special on alexander, 10 episodes i think, he could have realy done him justice. anyway im hoping that these so called early reviews are just people paid by competing studios, whatever. the premiere is tonight and well soon find out. by the way, go to imdb.com plenty of information there.

by the way, alexander, to me, is the greatest general who ever lived. i absolutely love all the clips ive seen of the movie so far.Remember, he said, to preserve discipline in the hour of danger, to advance in utter silence.....
and when the moment comes to ROAR out and put the fear of GOD into the enemy's heart......
remember, upon the conduct of each depends the fate of all. Our enemies are men who for centuries have lived soft and luxurious lives. We of Macedonia have trained in the hard school of danger and war.
and what of the two in Supreme command? They have Darius, YOU have Alexander.

andrew felando, exactly what is your problem with me? who the hell do you think you are? it seems i have wounded you deeply for some reason only you know about, on the internet. dont come on here like some keyboard warrior and try to insult me. ask the moderator when i registered and actually read my posts trollop. look at my history, alexander inspires me more than any other general in history. if there was any intelligence in you, you would realize i am looking forward to this movie as much as any alexander fan. so please dont address me again you twittering sparrow.

Hi Dara, (tone is facetious), I was laughing at this viewer's effort to save $6.00. (tone-serious)I honestly hope that Oliver has spent 2 1/2 years of his life, and $150 million bucks having a good time regardless of outcome. (tone-facetious again) The scene in which Hephaestion and other guys standing around in white chitons look like a frat party and/or latin party, and it made me laugh out loud! The idea that this kind of army conquered the world is more than I can believe. (tone-serious again)I really believe that a famous director as Oliver Stone should be able to get better reviews than he is getting, and I believe that the only way to get the best from him is for we viewers to demand it. (tone-serious) And I will expect all fans to think and decide for themselves too about whether they like or dislike the movie. But reviews are supposed to help the viewer to decide to go now, wait for a dvd, or a pay-per-view t.v. version, or whatever. I like Dana Kennedy of NBC as a reviewer as so far she had Troy right, and I have learned to trust her. I went to see Troy anyway but she did say wait it out.I put directions in as words in type just have to have explanation sometimes. I am hoping that the movie will be good, but I wish that he would have kept Alexander alive so as to make a sequel movie. He was short-sighted not to have kept him alive for awhile.
