i think that Alexander's father(Phillip) wasn't killed from attalos but from pausanias...can you verify it??

Pausanias wielded the celtic dagger but allegedly because Philip had failed to support his claim for damages against Attallos, after the latter had got him drunk and had his grooms sexually assault him. Attallos has never been thought of as involved in the assasination other than as the passive cause of Pausanias' motive.

Philp was killed by Pausanias in the theater of Ege, certainly! Many autors presented this fact as an act of a mad, maniac killer, but many persons was interested in the death of the king! Maybe someone powerful, knowing the hate of Pausanias against Philip, used this noble man to eliminate the king of Macedonian and protect himself...maybe Olympias, Athens, or Darius, just hypotesis!

I could have sworn I had posted an answer to this but perhaps the cyberspace gremlins got it.
My take on it is that Pausanias was merely the 'hit man' in the assassination because he had just cause (a former lover of the king who Philip's friends had made a fool of). There was undoubtedly Greek and Persian money behind it and probably Olympias had her finger in the pie too considering how angry she was at his recent marriage to the younger Macedonian girl.
