Poor Lane Fox. It appears that his legacy will be that film even though his book was written quite a few years ago. He may not be your choice but most in the know consider him an expert. I don't think anyone on this forum is being presumptuous in querying about Alexander's appearance. This is simple conjecture; we work with what we have and talk about it. Of course there is no definitive description of Alexander; records were destroyed and time ate up the rest.
Lane Fox probably invested too much in the movie (he's actually in it) without realizing (or maybe he did) what Stone's version was all about. Bad mistake for a scholar. We must remember (and I hated the movie) that fictionalized history is still fiction.
