Greek kings at Troy

This is a noddy question which I should probably know the answer to, but would Alexander have been the first Greek king at Troy since the Trojan war?

The Spartan King Agesilaos started a campaign in 4th BC on Asia Minor but went to Frygia, not in the Troy area. So yes, Alexanders was the firts Greek King to ever visit Troy since Agamemon.

Although you are probably right - the Spartans didn't get away on holiday often, and during the Classical period there weren't many other kings. But during the Archaic Period, who knows?

That's overly dignifying a lot of to-ing and fro-ing along with alliance making. When the Great King decided he'd enough of this rubbish he gave a fleet (likely being made ready for Egypt) to Conon and Pharnabazus to bring his "errant ally" to heel. Who knows? During the Archaic Age, only Sparta had Kings and I cannot imagine them as tourists visiting Persia... Now that I think of it, the exiled Spartan King Demaratos had gone to Xerxes during the Persian Wars but still it's out of my imagination to think of him as romantic visitor the city of Troy. But still who knows? Surely not Herodotus, not Thucydides nor any other sources.

But don't forget how keen i was to emulate Agamemnon at Aulis before embarking on the War of liberation, had it not been for those pesky Thebans... and having sold the Greeks of Asia down the river with the Peace of Antalkidas I retuned to Hellas via Thrace and Macedonia, Troy would have been on the way... Xenophon would have mentioned it? He did not mention us murdering Thucydides! (Seriously, some one has suggested it 
)
