Yes, the antikythera mechanism is another wonder of the ancient world.....it would be the 19th century before another mechanical calculator would be built, by Charles Babbage - hailed as the 'father of the computer'.

( I guess that makes the anonymous Greek builder of the antikythera mechanism the 'grandfather of the computer'. :lol: !)

Other fascinating sites associated with the antikythera mechanism are associated with the "Lego Antikythera Mechanism" - no I'm not joking !! Someone replicated the mechanism using Lego Technic pieces to produce a full functioning antikythera calculator, which can be seen here:-
