I have been working on a new front page for the website. Please could you take a look and give me your opinion and any comments or suggestions. https://pothos.org/contentnew/index.html. It doesn't look too bad on my phone!

Do you think it is too flashy?
Do you think it will attract new members?

I have also been working on a template for the sub-pages https://pothos.org/contentnew/template.html, but haven't quite finalised this.

Looks good. Yes, I think it might help to attract - the current view is quite old, and old-looking, which might indeed be a turn-off for some people.

The new site looks good- more what people might expect to see today. Hope it draws the attention of new people.
Still in the working stages but I can see how it should work when it's full-on.
Navigation still new to me but time will make it smoother.

Hi, thanks for your input. The initial page is designed to draw people in and the subsequent pages will have a more text-based and flatter navigation - once I can get the responsive HTML to work.

Whilst I do think that the 'upgrade' is more to the times and easier for those who want a simple browse-through, this old style that I did not grow up with is really awesome and adds a whole lot more to the website. The logo at the top left with I would assume Alexander and Bucephalus, the forum replying format, the EMOJIS... I understand that this website is aimed towards the general public who want to learn but as a current student studying classics, this website with its format, information, is a gold mine and I find it so cool!

Thanks. A lot of the information on the main pages of the website is out of date, or current thinking on the subject has changed. It is also not exhaustive, and personally, I always found it a bit difficult to navigate. You might find the two boards 'Topics for study' and 'Alexander sources' easier to use.
