Did Alexander Burn Any Libraries in Egypty
Hi FolksToday at work I had aserious debate with a guy into Egypt, his evidence was he read over 30 books on Egypt.He swore black and Blue Alexander was responsible for burniong a library in Egypt, The Only Library I am aware of it the burning of the library in Alexandria down to the Romans.Is there any other libraries that Alexander was supposed to have torched regardsKenny

Of course no he didn't burn anything in Egipt. On the contrary - he builded city (quite fames) and rebuilded or restored the temples like temple of Amor-Re in Thebes (today's Luxor).
Only one library he burned was those in Persepolis but it was also accident he wanted to burn Palace as a revenge for burning Athens but library was close enough that fire embranced it too...Maciek

Greetings Kenny,It was Julius Caesar, some historians think he pushed man back a thousand years by doing so. They say Columbus might have been flying to the moon instead of bringing disease to the natives in the far west. A little far fetched but fun to think about.Take care, Andrew
