Greetings Sikander,I totally agree, it was shoved down my throat in my youth, but I won't go any farther either.Since this has gotten off topic, I sent you a rough draft on Bucephalus, I hope there's something you can use, thanks.Regards, Andrew

"Jona - do you know of any particular articles on this subject?"No articles, actually; and I do remember reading that in Greece woman's conditions improved. Yet, I also remember that in Egypt, women lost their traditional, comparatively good rights, which were only partly restored by the Roman Lex Julia (which gave certain right to women with four or three children).Jona

You are right. I should have stressed the other cultural aspect, that Greece became more open for oriental influences.Actually, my mistake is funny, because I usually leave no possibility unused to irritate my classicist friend by overstressing the lack of originality of the ancient Greeks. (I like to exaggerate if I can provoke classicists.)Jona

There is an interesting post on a different website asserting that Alexander is not so great. I wish you luck in your effort to prove why it is that many consider Alexander to be great! Usually it is because of his "winning ways".
