Hi, I came across this a while ago. Looks like a sympathetic portrayal of Genghis Khan. Some parallels to Alexander of course. Am quite excited about going to see it soon. Here's the trailer.
I just recently saw this movie and loved it. It is a credit to the producers and director who made it. The actor who portrays Genghis is believable in his interpretation of the script. He is truly very easy to take, and makes Timujin very sympathetic. The movie is all subtitled in English and that makes for some very interesting considerations...exactly what does the Mongolian language translate to when interpreted...the plot does deviate from most histories that I have read, as Borte is not ever portrayed in history books as she is in this film...that part I did not like...but otherwise, it is a good movie and set the stage for the next two as all of this is a part of a trilogy.
And a warning, as this film is about the early years of the life of the great ruler, and sets the background for the forthcoming films. It ends at the beginning so to speak...
