Did you know?
Did you know that the cause of ATG's death was due to a drowning? Yes, he got drunk one that fateful night, went for a swim, and sunk like a rock. This bit of wisdom was given to me (yesterday at a a local laundromat) by a person who claimed to *know* ATG and other famous military leaders. I was there doing laundry, and I overheard him/her mention ATG's name to a few listener-bys. Astounded (to hear ATG's name in a discussion at a laundromat), I asked the person if he/she indeed was discussing whom my ears heard. With animosity in his tone and liquor on his/her breath (or really bad shaving cologne),he/she told me that delightful theory. He/She proceeded to leave the place. I stood frozen, pondering the situation. The tiny event was *very* odd.The Amazon Queen just wanted to share that since she is still recovering from it.Cheers,Thalestris
Re: Did you know?
Well it had to be a shock for You... We all knew wrong version(s). But I'm sure that if he/she knew Alexander - he/she is our most relieble source we ever can have! Anyway don't try to speak to him/her because in other situation such man can figure out that hi/she is for exapmple Jack the Ripper... And we (the companions) can be late to help You out!Maciek

Re: Did you know?
HI AMAZON QUEEN, VERY INTERESTING STORY. BUT ONE PROBLEM. I'M SURE ONE OF HIS MANY BODYGUARDS WOULD HAVE SAVED HIM! NONETHELESS, I THINK THAT YOUR BRUT 44 LAUNDERED FRIEND WAS PARTIALLY RIGHT BECAUSE WHILE SWIMMING, HE WAS STUNG BY AN MALARIA INFECTED MOSQUITO.ANYWAY, WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY? I HAD YOUR MATERIAL TO RETURN TO YOU.PLUS, I BROUGHT ALONG NICHOLAS CLAY! WELL, MAYBE ANOTHER TIME.

Re: Did you know?
He wansn't right because Alexander didn't drown! That possible malaria he got when was on the boat - so it had nothing to do with drowning...Maciek

Re: Did you know?
That is hilarious! Unless of course he fell in with all his armour on. But then, I heard he didn't really like water that much.

And I suppose your new friend happens to know for a fact that Napoleon won at Waterloo...?

Re: Did you know?
Well... :-)Actually, I'm sure there are some nutters who probably claim that he did. However, I think the outcome of Waterloo is one of those relatively few incontrovertable historical facts...All the bestMarcus
Re: Did you know?
In the Alexander Romance, doesn't Roxane stop Alexander from throwing himself in the Tigris so that his body wont be found and he will more easily be thought a god?Maybe he had read it and mis-remembered in an alchoholically standard way.
When you think about, it free-choice is the only possible option.
Re: Did you know?
But it is all ok.. The Sting is that Roxanne got involved with the Police, but died with them some years ago. Alexander on the other hand has just become Deutschland-¦s new Superstar.
