In the opening scenes of the video Mr Wood is in a village that lies in the shadow of a snow-capped peak - is this Pella (Alexander's birthplace)?

I have never been in Pella - but just from pictures and circumstantial evidence I would say: no. Pella is on a plain. Wood's village is on the slopes of mount Olympus. That is (as I recall) some 50 miles or so from Pella.Buth Ruth will know for sure.Best regards -

Perhaps it's Dion, proverbial city of the army, with Olympus forming its backdrop. Nowadays a testing range for Greek artillery lies to one side of it.Years since I saw the Michael Woods effort, so this really is a shot in the dark.
