No it wasnt the Macedonian way.He alsop stated Cassander had the Opportunity Motive and indeed a History for poisoning.Totally made the programe and the investigater seem stupid?Kenny

Yes, made it a bit difficult to fathom.
The "Macedonian" way would, I suppose, have been to cut his throat followed by the rest of his relations.As I said, that would not have been a wise move in the middle of Asia. A substantial number of Greek mercenaries and other veterans had up and left the "upper Satrapies" when Alexander marched off to India and rumours ciculated he'd not be back.Far better to have him die "of fever" and arrange a succession. The poison thing would be difficult to prove.Cassander (on behalf of Antipater and possibly others) had motive. Perdiccas' subsequent behaviour raises motive - he seemed to have the empire divided up in advance.To say "it was not the Macedonian way" is to ignore the exigencies of the situation. If did happen it had to happen before they all set off on yet another war in Arabia or elsewhere. Certainly Antipater was well aware his time was borrowed against a hefty interest rate - with the bank near to foreclosing. The Macedonian way was not what the situation required. A neatly drawn out death by "fever" was pretty close though. Paralus

Indeed MichaelI got a pocket full off dosh If ever the body Is found Ill wager toxins found there.Its awfully uncanny Hepheastion died Similar. I always argued If Alexander had to go so did he. the killers couldnt risk anyone carrying on where Alexander left off. And the one most likely to try would be Hepheastion. So not only the Organ gringer but the monkey had to go.The Mystery with Hepheastion was he seemed to pick up then ding dong Relapse and dead.The arguements against Alexander been poisoned was how come it took so long to die. Well just maybe as we know he was young in his prime and tough as a rhino It took that long for it to kill him or had to be kept topping up with poison. Maybe Hepheastion was on the mend until another dose finished him off.Both men early 30s Fit as fiddles yet mystery deaths. These just aint coincidence. Nor some mysterious malaria. These boys were bumped off before the bumper offers were replaced.kenny
